The Position - Procurement Category Manager

The Salary and Package

£40,000 - £50,000

Responsible for directly managing a number of sub-categories through leveraging the global scale to maximize the economic value derived from procurement in these areas. They will develop for business wide approval a robust category strategy for their categories. They will also provide support to the Category Leader to assist in the development and execution of the overall category strategy and delivery of the overall objectives.

The Role

  • To devise, develop and implement procurement strategies and tactics for the category so that business targets are achieved.
  • To manage projects across the COMPANY so that value, service and business targets are achieved. Working with Group categories to implement and support Group projects.
  • To provide commercial expertise to internal customers during the processes of identification, understanding, prioritisation and management of risk with respect to the procurement of goods and services within the category
  • To provide commercial and negotiation expertise to all projects and initiatives in the category devised to achieve the COMPANY cost reduction programme.
  • To capture, report and make recommendations on information and data relating to their category.
