Dear CIPS Student                                                                                          May 2010

Welcome to the DPSS CIPS Fast Track programme. I hope that you will enjoy your period of study over the course of your programme and want to highlight aspects that will enhance your learning experience.

Study Guides and Learning Support

It is recommended that you order your study guide from www.profex.co.uk to arrive at the beginning of your study period 8 weeks prior to the exam in order to support the guided learning of 50hours. These are priced currently at £30 per module. DPSS have secured a discount of 5% on books ordered from Profex. The discount code will be given to you once you have booked your place. In order for you to be prepared for your tutorial workshop, it is advisable to have read this prior to workshop attendance. This will allow you to make the most of the tutorial time and will prepare you for the reflection period after the 2 day workshop prior to your exam.

CIPS Membership

Before you enter for the exam, you will need to become a student member of CIPS. The current price of student membership is £100. You can contact CIPS membership team +44 (0) 845 88 0 1188 or at www.cips.org. Exam entries will not be accepted by CIPS unless you have student membership so it is important that you do this at the earliest opportunity

Exam Entries

You will be notified by CIPS and sent an exam entry form. You will need to complete, selecting an exam centre convenient to you and send to CIPS with payment prior to deadline. Currently exam entries are either £70(May and November sittings) or £75(January,March and July sittings)

Tutorial Workshops

It is recommended that you have done some pre reading prior to workshop to ensure that you gain the most from your tutor. Your tutor will be well qualified and experienced in their specialist field and will provide a slide pack, past papers and supplementary learning materials that you will utilise in the workshop time that you will be able to download from the secure area prior to your workshop. The venue will be confirmed when you have booked and each workshop will include Refreshments and lunch to ensure that you are focussed on your studies

Level 4 - Two day Tutorial Workshop

Birmingham, Dartford or Cambridge

Each day will start promptly at 9am and finish at 5pm.                                                                         £395 + VAT

Level 5 – Two and a half day Tutorial Workshop

Birmingham or Dartford

Each day will start promptly at 9am and finish at 5pm.Half day will finish at 1pm                                 £495 + VAT

Level 6 – Three day Tutorial Workshop (excl. Supply chain management in practice)

Dartford

Each day will start promptly at 9am and finish at 5pm                                                                        £595 + VAT

Feedback

At DPSS the student experience is paramount and to ensure that you have the best opportunity to be successful in your professional development you will be asked to complete feedback forms as part of our total quality management system.

What to do now?

·       Complete your workshop booking form and return to DPSS at Magnolia House 20 Priestlands Park Road Sidcup Kent DA15 7HR. Spaces are limited to ensure a good tutor/student ratio.

·       Register as a student member with CIPS.

·       Enter for the relevant exams
