Procurement and Contracting Training for Primary Care Trusts

The NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (NHSPASA) has commissioned DPSS Consultants to design and deliver a training programme consisting of six, one day courses to Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) throughout the country over the next 6 months.

NHSPASA is sponsoring a nationwide programme of six one day courses for those involved in commissioning. These course are design to support the introduction of World class Commissioning competencies and are free to all PCTs across the UK, until July 2009.

The programme is made of courses related to the Fundamentals of Procurement, Contract Management, Effective and Practical Negotiations and Management of the Supply Market. The courses are being delivered by a team of consultants from DPSS.

The courses have been especially designed to reflect the unique PCT context. The courses are being offered in London, Bristol, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester.

The programme of courses are accredited by the International Association of Contracting and Commercial Managers (IACCM)and successful completion will enable participants to apply for associate membership and use the designated letters ACCM.

The Accreditation Process

To gain the accredited IACCM certificate participants will be required to submit for moderation by IACCM a piece of work previously set and assessed by DPSS, normally one of the class based case study tasks. The completed assignment is then emailed direct to DPSS for assessment and it is then sent to the IACCM for moderation. Providing the work is of the right standard and all 6 assignments are completed the participant will be awarded with a course certificate - accredited and endorsed by the IACCM.

The assessment and moderation fee per participant is £750 plus VAT.

Participants that complete all 6 courses will be eligible to apply for Associate Membership and can use the designated letters ACCM - The discounted associate member fee is £75.00 per annum
