Jeremy Mant BSc(Econ) ACMA MILT AMIMC MIOM

Jeremy Mant has worked in the automotive products, steelmaking, and drinks industries, and in business and computer consultancy and training over a period of some thirty years. He is a Chartered Management Accountant.

He has held management appointments in finance, distribution, and inventory management. He has worked in consultancy and training since 1987.

He has expertise in inventory management, demand forecasting, distribution planning, computer modelling, programming and systems development, training, costing and budgeting, financial management, internal audit, cost reduction programmes, capital project evaluation, business planning, work study, and training needs analysis.

Consultancy projects have been undertaken in the areas of inventory management, demand forecasting, materials management, distribution planning, vehicle funding, vendor evaluation, contract distribution, market testing, computer systems selection, and project monitoring.

In addition to courses run for DPSS, he runs courses for the Institute of Operations Management on the application of spreadsheets to production, purchasing, and inventory management. He has run courses for the FTA on transport and workshop costing, and transport modelling. He has jointly presented courses for the CIPS on car fleet management, IT strategy, and vehicle maintenance.

He has published a number of articles on inventory management, the use of simulation models, the evaluation of funding options for cars and commercial vehicles, and the use of spreadsheets for capacity planning. These have appeared in the journals of the CIPS and IOM, and in Management Consultancy, Materials Handling News, and others.

He is a former Branch President of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
