Paul Jackson BSc

Paul graduated from the University of Aston in 1992 having previously been a Registered Representative of the London Stock Exchange and a qualified Stock-Exchange trader. He then spent 9 years in sales, commercial and general management with Hagemeyer NV, a leading global B2B distribution company, a period which included a 4 year change management project, and extensive work developing inventory management and service systems with amongst others Toyota, Tyco and a number of NHS Trusts. Paul was also responsible for a number of commercial initiatives including several large import agreements with emerging markets in Africa and the Far East, as well as managing the supplier relationships with companies including Legrand and Novar.

In 2001 he moved to take up a position of Director of Procurement and Supplier Relations for Telia (later TeliaSonera), the former Swedish state incumbent telecom operator where he worked until last year. During this time Paul managed a number of multimillion Euro procurement, outsourcing, and development projects with partners such as Ericsson, Schenker, ABB and Electricite de France, and helped develop competitive tendering, framework agreements and structured relationship management across the company. Paul was also responsible for the Western Europe property portfolio during the integration of the Telia and Sonera businesses after the merger in 2003.

During his time with TeliaSonera, Paul realised the importance of managing outsourced relationships to ensure enhanced profitability and effective service levels. He now owns and runs a consulting business specialising in the management of outsourcing, procurement and change management. The company motto is "making outsourcing work".
