The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is the professional body for those people in public finance.
CIPFA www.cipfa.org has over 14,000 members working throughout the UK public sector, national audit agencies, accountancy firms, and in other bodies where public money needs to be effectively and efficiently managed.
We have recently formed a strategic partnership with CIPFA to help them provide training and development solutions in the specialist field of contract management and procurement.
CIPFA Accredited Programs
Currently CIPFA offers two accredited programs in the field of contracting and procurement
The Certificate in Contract Management
CIPFA states “As shown by high profile governance failures in managing contracts by some local public bodies, there is a clear need to improve the skills of those who are responsible for managing contracts with external organisations.
This qualification takes a highly applied and focused approach. While completing it, participants will develop the wide range of knowledge, understanding, and cognitive and practical skills needed to manage contracts effectively.
Certificate in Public Sector Procurement
CIPFA states “The pressure on public bodies to operate even more efficiently has never been greater. Money is tight and will become even tighter over the next few years, which means that public bodies need to spend wisely and make effective purchasing decisions. Central to this imperative is the need for organisations to have staff who have the appropriate procurement skills.
To respond to this need, CIPFA has developed a practical procurement skills training programme dedicated to the needs of the public sector. The programme is underpinned by essential procurement principles and models that will equip staff and their organisations for current and future challenges.
