Post Award Contract Management – The Importance of the Ongoing Relationship

The final hurdle has been jumped over and the finishing line is just ahead..

You have just completed the rigorous and thorough process of selecting your perfect supplier.  Contracts have been signed and both parties can look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.

Now is the time to sit back, relax and congratulate yourself on a job well done.  Not quite!  The importance of Post Award Contract Management cannot be stressed highly enough.  It is simply not good enough to assume that a contract will be complied with without any effort from you however large or small the contract is.  By managing the contract helps to ensure that KPI’s are met, deliveries/services completed on time, quality is maintained and a good two way relationship is forged.
